THE COUSCOUS CAKE OF DOOM

In the main the slimming world regime has been going really well . 4 weeks in and I am 11 pounds down . Once you get your head round the concept that you are not dieting as such(ie starvation and obsessivley weighing EVERYTHING) but changing what you eat together , and what to only eat in small quantities , its great.
I bought a couple of their recipe books , the sauce one is brilliant , the Chip Shop Curry sauce is so good you dont know wether to eat it or spoon it down your undies.
But I have found a couple of real horrors.
Peas Pudding Pasta sauce........ this looked like an extra from Star Treck , smelt like cat sick , and had a taste and texture that was just disgusting .I had to throw the whole stinking mess down the toilet , followed by a flushing fest , as it actually proved very tenacious in sticking to the old enamel.........Shudders.
The second was a couscous cake , what can I say about this nightmare except , its the sort of thing you would want to slip into someones sports/handbag , that you really , really didnt like .
They would be haunted by it for the next 20 years , wondering what large carniverous animal had been wandering about and decided to empty its colon in their hand luggage.
Gotta run , the gym beckons , Beasty is soon going to be back to his lithe , sinious self.
Watch out world here I come :-)

I was once served cous cous that was arm pit flavored.

Can't touch the stuff anymore.

Good luck on the reducing!

This was leaning towards wrestlers jock strap in texture , flavour and smell .
Not that I am an expert on the epicurious delights of a wrestlers jockstrap

Where does the pot noodle figure in the Beast diet?

Mr Bananas , the majestic pot noodle has it place,A few of the varieties are even a free food on a green day , so you can gorge on them to your hearts content.
It is indeed food of the gods

I am watching your progress with great interest. the biker and i hve had a similar weight issue for years...we've both hit what's called metabolic impasse, meaning that our systems refuse to dump the weight despite increased exercise, but this seems to be cutting through that for you, doesn't it?
I've checked out the plan and even used a couple of the meal ideas just to try things out and hell, the biker and I could do that very easily. WAY TO GO BEAST!

I assume this anon is Miss C rather than Mr C .
Miss C , it was disgusting , in a rice puding left to go solid kind of way , no amount of lemon cud could have disguised it , maybe i didnt cook it right :-(

I was wondering if you could make a selection of meals from these wonderful ingredients then send them to mutley, am sure he could do a roaring trade by selling them, or maybe feeding the wildlife with them? Who is this gym, do we know him?

I guess my lard and raw pastry diet is off the the agenda then? I also think it a good idea to cut lead from your diet.

Hang on? Couscous cake??? This is a slimming world horror isn't it?

No don't ask me how I know

**Runs off screaming**

The peas-pudding could have been salvaged with a large amount of Lea & Perrins Sauce; I've found it covers a multitude of awful tastes.

And if you get stuff like Piri sauce, or Green Thai paste to mix in, even couscous can taste OK. Just think of it as an animal that's fallen from the top of a skyscraper and met a sieve on the way down.

eating cous cous and rice cakes are a form of self-abuse
