LITERARY KERB CRAWLING

The Beast has been shopping for books . I get no joy from shopping Online (Apart from the price) , I like to go mooching round a good bookstore like Borders.

I like cruising round the shelves , looking at whats flaunting itself(Come on big boy , read me !) and see which cheeky little number attracts my attention , then go and handle it , feel its weight , marvel at its thickness (less is not more in a paperback) flick through its pages and peruse the cover art .

So I have now scuttled home with a carrier bag chock full of treasures and will be settling in for a reading fest . Oh Joy :-)

I like cruising

Then shouldn't you be down round the public toilets instead of the bookstore?

Are you going to share your treasures with us in a Beast's Book Club selection?

Lippy , I got The multi award winning The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher , which I read over the weekend . I didnt get on with it very well , it was waffely and kept wandering off of the story . I also got the last two novels in Frank Herberts Dune series written by his son after his death and completes the story left hanging after Chapterhouse Dune , so I am looking forward to them

Ah, that's so sophisticated of you to go to a book store to peruse and purchase books. I still go to the library, though, I do enjoy wandering the bookstores--except I find myself drawn to the humor or sci fi section and I'd be embarrassed at being caught with some of the selections.

I can't ever buy books--I all ready collect too much junk like a pack rat!

Eros , The books get passed round the whole family and then we sell them on to a second hand book store Or give them to the local charity shop , so they are enjoyed by a lot of people . I like Murder mysteries , sci fi and legal thrillers
